Who is responsible
NosyDock is a trading name used by a UK sole trader. Its operator is responsible for the personal data described here. For privacy questions or requests, use our contact form.
What we collect
- Your account name, email address, sign-in details and support messages.
- Saved HS codes, search criteria, report selections, orders, payment status and generated reports.
- Technical and usage data, such as IP address, browser, visited pages and security events. Signed-in analytics may be linked to your account.
- Trade records obtained from third-party data sources. These mainly describe businesses, but may identify individuals acting in a business capacity.
We receive information from you, optional Google sign-in, Polar checkout and our trade-data supplier. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
Why we use it
- Contract: To create and secure your account, save your research, process orders and provide reports.
- Legitimate interests: To prevent abuse, improve the service and analyse relevant business trade records for customer research. Recorded parties are not presented as verified buyers.
- Legal obligations: To keep required tax and transaction records and respond to lawful requests.
- Consent: If you choose to receive optional email tips. You can change that preference or unsubscribe at any time. Service messages about sign-in, orders and security are separate.
Who receives data
We use services needed to run NosyDock:
- Vercel (hosting)
- Neon (database)
- Polar (payments and invoices)
- Resend (service emails)
- Google (optional sign-in)
- OpenPanel (analytics)
- Inngest (background processing)
- Tally (contact form)
We send your selected search criteria to a trade-data supplier to provide previews and reports. A paid report shows stored trade observations to the customer who ordered it. Polar handles checkout and may act independently for payment and invoicing. We do not sell your account details to other customers.
Transfers and retention
Some service providers process data outside the UK. Where a transfer needs safeguards, we rely on applicable contractual and legal transfer arrangements. We keep account data and reports while needed to provide the service. We review account-closure requests and delete or anonymise data we no longer need; order, payment and security records may be kept for legal obligations or disputes. You can ask us about a specific record or retention period through the contact form.
Cookies and analytics
Sign-in uses a session cookie. Browser storage may remember your display preferences. We use OpenPanel to understand page views and feature use; it may receive technical identifiers and, when you are signed in, account information. We do not use advertising cookies or sell browsing activity.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or receive your personal data. You can withdraw consent for optional email tips without affecting earlier lawful processing. To make a request, use our contact form. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
You can object to our use of your data based on legitimate interests. You can always object to direct marketing.
Changes
We may update this notice as the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision. For significant changes, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
